Kia Rio Review
Cinco wagon is a great alternative to a used car.
2002 Kia Rio Base Price (MSRP) $9,095
As Tested (MSRP) $12,470
all new last year, the Kia Rio is a nice little four-door sedan with a high roofline that gives it surprisingly good headroom. The Rio sedan's retail price starts at $9,095. Its price and warranty make it a tempting alternative to a used car.
For 2002, Kia has added the Cinco five-door microwagon to the Rio line. to the Rio line. (Cinco is Spanish for five.) Not a hatchback, the Cinco reminds us from a rear-quarter view of a Saab wagon, and that's not bad. At $10,385, it's a great way to get 24.8 cubic feet of dirty laundry home from college. It feels stable at high speeds and is an enjoyable car to drive.

Kia Sedona Review
A great value among minivans.
2002 Kia Sedona Base Price (MSRP) $18,995
As Tested (MSRP) $23,805
Kia's all new Sedona offers an exceptionally good value for a big family who doesn't want to break the budget on a minivan. The 2002 Kia Sedona is bigger than a Dodge Caravan and comes loaded with popular features, but costs thousands less than popular minivans.

Kia Spectra Review
Merger mania.
2002 Kia Spectra Base Price (MSRP) $10,995
As Tested (MSRP) $15,664
Last year, the Kia Spectra was a hatchback version of the Kia Sephia, a 4-door compact sedan significant for being Kia's first model sold in the U.S. under its own nameplate, dating back to 1993. This year the Sephia name is gone, absorbed into a lineup bearing the Spectra name. So now there are Spectra sedans and hatchbacks.
All Spectra models receive freshened styling for 2002.
The base Kia Spectra sedan lists at just $10,995. Kia sweetens the deal with a warranty program that extends basic coverage to five years or 60,000 miles, and powertrain coverage to 10 years or 100,000 miles; it also includes five-year/100,000-mile rust perforation protection, and a five-year/unlimited mileage roadside assistance plan.
At that rate it's hard to avoid looking at a Spectra.
